A Juicy History
For centuries, fresh pomegranate seeds have been eaten to help fend off sickness and diseases. Only within our recent years has science and medical research studies confirmed that consuming this fruit on a regular basis actually works wonders for your health and body.
Pomegranates are still harvested all over Asia, India and the Middle East as in the time of Moses. Pomegranates are mentioned numerous times in the Old Testament of the Bible and in various ancient Greek texts. Today, the fruit is grown and harvested in different parts of southern Europe, South America and the USA. The largest growing region in the world, however, is the San Joaquin Valley of Central California. Today, pomegranates can also be found in most supermarkets and are available fresh, packaged, as a fruit juice and in smoothies.
